Be the next World Chef Championship winner!
Our 2nd Closed Beta Test (CBT) is just one week away! Today, I want to give you an overview of the World Chef Championship, which is one of the exciting in-game competition features and a key highlight of our CBT. Notably, there’s an attractive prize of 1,000 USDT for the top 20 rankers during the CBT. So, I have prepared a comprehensive guide for you to review in advance. So, let’s dive right in!
What is World Chef Championship (WCC)?
It is an in-game competition where all the chefs in Metaland can compete to be the top chef. Each WCC round consists of 3 phases — Preparation, Tournament, and Rewards Claim. During the WCC you can find the judges on the main street so that you can easily access the WCC.
Where is it held?
The WCC will be held in 3 restaurants consisting of 5 stages each for the chefs to compete. The key is that our GRAM DAO will vote for 2 of the restaurants every round, and the NIM team will pick the last one. Once we have the Contents Provider, they will pick one, and GRAM DAO will vote for the other one, but GRAM DAO will vote for 2 at the moment.
You can join the GRAM DAO by acquiring governance rights ($sGRAM) through staking $GRAM tokens in the Governance Staking program. More details about the GRAM Staking Program will be introduced in the near future!
This is a great benefit since you can vote for the restaurant where the kitchen and interior are fully upgraded, allowing you to easily score high. A high score corresponds to a higher position in the rankings, which, in turn, leads to better rewards. Details on the voting system will be announced on our Discord so don’t forget to follow us!
If you haven’t unlocked the restaurant where the WCC is held, don’t worry! You can still participate, however, you won’t be able to upgrade the kitchen or interior to help you score high.
How to participate?
You need WCC Tickets to participate, and 1 WCC Ticket will be spent for every attempt. You can get the tickets as a Check-in Bonus or as a Quest Reward. If you run out of them, you can always buy them from the Candy Shop!
How does the ranking system work?
So there are 4 ranking boards — one Medal Ranking, and three Restaurant Rankings, so let’s have a look at how this works.
Medal Ranking
Your ranking will be based on the total number of medals you have received from 15 stages (5 stages, 3 restaurants), and you can get a maximum of 5 medals per stage.
Every time you clear a stage with medals, the number of medals you’ve earned will be added to the medal ranking, which refreshes every 5 minutes. There is no limit on the total number of medals you can earn during WCC.
Restaurant Ranking
Your ranking will be based on the total score of the 5 stages of the restaurant, which corresponds to the total amount of Cony you have earned from the stages. Once you clear all the stages your record will be on the ranking board, and the stage will reset so that you can try again for a better score.
Please note that your name will appear on the ranking board once you clear all 5 stages. If you are in 1st place of the restaurant ranking, your profile picture will be displayed on the Master Chair of the restaurant.
What is the reward?
As previously announced, 90% of the total ticket sales will be allocated as the prize for the next round. However, to secure enough prize funds for the early rounds, we have decided to set a prize pool at 100,000 Candy for each of the 1st to 3rd rounds after the official launch as our welcoming gifts!
This prize pool of the first 3 rounds will be set as the above, so there are a total of 4 rankings you can be rewarded from — one Medal Ranking and three Restaurant Ranking. Since the Restaurant Ranking requires more restaurant upgrades to be on the upper rank, so the prize is slightly higher than the Medal Ranking.
How hard is it?
The World Chef Championship is a competition for experienced chefs and beginner chefs may find it challenging. Just like in Master Mode, the guests’ orders and the order of their visits will be randomized with each attempt. The Food Fighter Donald, who typically orders 3 of the same dish, will now order 3 different dishes at once. Can you imagine?
And here are our judges! The middle one is the most strict one and he will end the stage if a guest leaves angry. When he is the judge, make sure to serve all the guests!
